Over the last few years more and more of our current and new enquiring customers have asked if we can offer a strong, robust frame that would allow them to have a tine drill that can be used in heavy clay soils right the way through to sandy loams.
The model has been designed with trialled and tested features and proven framework from a variety of our loosening models and combining them to bring an extremely competitive tine drill to the market.
A unique feature of the design is the use of contouring wings which have a pivot pitch of up to 5deg side to side integrated into the carrying frame above each wing to allow for undulations and varying terrain, maintaining seed depth from front to back across the full width of the drill.
The frame is supplied with a CAT3 and 4 linkage headstock and uses 20mm Grange tines over four rows on the toolbar frame at a tine spacing of 250mm centres featuring a resting area in the centre section for optimum trash flow management.
Hydraulic seed depth adjustment allows for easy and accurate change on the move with each of the land wheels having a pair of tines positioned equally behind them in the frame to remove all wheelings, leaving a perfect finish.
Grange Machinery is working with Bourgault Tillage Tools (BTT) UK Ltd for the supply of tines and will be offering the range of Bourgault tips. The TDT launched at Cereals is fitted with the 688-HLD-2000 holder and the 610-TIP-4030, four-inch paired row tip (grain & fert). Options of a single 19mm shoot also available for seed only, beans or OSR available and are extremely quick and easy to switch over. This high chromium tip with a strategically placed 3/4" carbide nose tile not only does most of the work of the coulter, but also creates a drainage channel below where the seed is placed
We offer a choice of either a double tine harrow or hydraulic levelling paddle system and then a 'Z' tine harrow to finish.
The hydraulic levelling paddle system can be used on the move to manage the soil flow and coverage behind the tines is kept consistent and leaving a level finish prior to the 'Z' tine harrow. The hydraulic function allows to precise position of the paddle in varying soil conditions and surface residue but also gives the option of rotating the paddle beam completely out of work if required.
The rear of the machine can also be tailored with a double rear harrow frame, offering a multiple of working positions for differing trash and soil conditions which are height and pitch adjustable and fitted with a Z-tine harrow system creating the perfect finish.
The 6m Tine Drill Toolbar was launched at the Cereals Event 2024, having lead the UK market for more than seven years in low disturbance loosening systems we have been working very hard at mastering a machine that will strongly compete in the direct seeding sector.

The machine features hydraulic seed depth adjustment which allows for easy and accurate change on the move with each of the land wheels having a pair of tines positioned equally behind them in the frame to remove all wheelings, leaving a perfect finish in the field. The drill can be specified with either one or two distribution heads for seed-only or a seed and fertiliser combination.
We fit the Bourgault 688-HLD-2000 holder and the 610-TIP-4030 4” paired row for both cereals and row crops but also offer the 19mm single tip which can be quickly swapped over for beans and OSR establishment. The 4” paired row is a high chromium tip with a strategically placed ¾ in carbide nose tile that not only does most of the work of the coulter but also creates a drainage channel below where the seed is placed. With the option of the double holder allows for fertiliser to be placed central of the twin outlets in the coulter opener which lays perfectly below the seed, this channel is specifically designed to allow for optimum placement within the row and for fast rooting of the growing crop.

An LED road lighting kit is standard, along with depth adjustable track eradicator tine brackets to accept various manufacturer eradicator tines.
Grange now supplies a single or double metering front tank offering a full turnkey solution with seed and rear tine drill setup. We are working with all mainstream manufacturers’ front tanks to use in combination with the rear mounted Grange TDT.
Further options include a rear access platform and seeder mounting bracket, Stocks Turbo Jet 8 i-Con seed applicator and rear bar fitted with seed pipes and outlets brackets for avadex / slug pellet application.
Available in working widths: 3m, 4m, 4.5m, 4.8m, 5m & 6m, 250Hp + is required for the 6m TDT.
